    Complaints procedure

    KC Solicitors is committed to providing high quality legal advice and client care. However, if you are unhappy about any aspect of the service you have received, we have a complaints procedure in place which is available on request. If we cannot resolve the problem for you then you are entitled to seek further guidance from the Legal Ombudsman who can be contacted on:

    Telephone: 0300 555 0333
    Email : http://www.legalombudsman.org.uk
    Address : Legal Ombudsman, PO Box 6806, Wolverhampton, WV1 9WJ,

    We aim to respond to your concerns within 8 weeks and if you are still dissatisfied then you have 6 months in order to refer it to the Legal Ombudsman from the date of our final response. You will have 6 months from the end of the 8 weeks period or from our earlier final response to do that.

    Before accepting a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that you have tried to resolve your complaint with us first. A complaint to the Legal Ombudsman must be made:

    • Within six months of receiving a final response to your complaint. and;
    • No more than 1 year from the act/omission that lead to the complaint. Or;
    • No more than 1 year from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.

    The Law Society’s website www.lawsociety.org.uk contains a solicitor search facility accessible from the home page which allows searches to be conducted against several criteria including location and legal specialisms.

    Legal aid eligibility can be checked at the calculator: www.gov.uk/check-legal-aid If you feel we were negligent towards you as a professional, you may claim damage.
